Lung cancer is responsible for millions of lives each year. This disease generally affects people with an average age of sixty years. About 170.000 new cases of lung cancer detected each year and about 160.000 people lost their lives due to this disease, if detected before it spreads to lymph nodes or other body parts, there is 50% chance of survival. However, often times, the cancer is not detected at an early stage to make such a low survival chance of 12%, although the situation has improved now due to better diagnostic procedures better.
